Description

I was asked to create proposals for public art projects in Port Credit, Mississauga. I created a series of eleven impulsive drawings which suggest mostly absurd or impossible new programs for the region. They propose everything from SWANS WILL BE TREATED LIKE BIRDS, to MUSIC TEACHERS WILL RECEIVE FREE MEAT, and THE LAKE WILL BE CLEANED ENTIRELY. While many of the proposals were not intended to be realized, the drawings were on display for audience members to consider the limits of public art, the rationale of the ideas, and to imagine their diverse possible implications.

The drawings were made in Port Credit, Mississauga and in Toronto in 2009.
