How To Eat Light
Discreet performance and photographs
St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, 2003
Description
I was on a residency at a Quebec seminary, and I couldn’t communicate with anyone. I discovered a hall garden maintained by one of the priests, and decided to spend a day with the plants. I tried to sit as still as the ferns, the philodendrons, and the palms, in an effort to emulate their grace.
I stayed by the window from dawn until dusk, and attempted to eat nothing but light.
The performance was enacted at the Seminary of Ste. Hyacinthe, in Ste. Hyacinthe, Quebec in 2003.
